On Saturday Feb 6th, 2016 ICSC arranged an awareness session on Project Final Design Package Overview.
Mr. Shane Keating, Mr. Ric McIver, Mr. Mike Shaikh and Mr. Ric Fraser were some of the notable guests among the SE/SW community members and assured their help and support for the project. ICSC architect Mr. Sharif Senbel presented Masjid & Community Hall design and Mr. Nisar Bhutto presented past and present status of the project.

Yesterday, Sunday 21st August 2016, saw what was supposed to be a peaceful MCC-2016 AGM gathering of about 300 members turn into a violent break out by a handful of people.

The MCC Board called upon the Volunteers to put forward their names to serve the community as part of the management committee of SW Masjid, Akram Jomaa, Bilal Center and Brooks Center. MCC Board Council have approved the Sub Committees to serve until the new elections of the SW Masjid, Akram Jomaa, Bilal Center and Brooks Center is called upon in July 2016.

The Azaan Competition was organized by MCC on January 29th 2016 at the Akram Jomaa Center. This was a program for children as well as adults from all parts of Calgary. Training was provided at the Islamic School (OBK Campus) led by Shaikh Mohamed Youssef
The NK Foundation partnered with the MCC to organize the Qira'a Competition in Calgary.

Subject: Update On School Fee 2016 / 2017 & Transparency Initiatives
The We Care Food and Job Bank activities have been resumed since December 2015 and a Facebook account has been created. We are accepting Food, Clothing, Furniture and other necessary items for the Syrian Refugees as well as the needy families in Calgary.
Donation bins have been placed in various locations in Calgary and volunteers have been picking up the items in trucks and delivering them to the WeCare office in the MCC tower building.
The MCC has recently started to focus and work with Youth leaders from all its Islamic Centers of Calgary to establish Center-Based Youth Leadership Committees.
