The recent episodes of vandalism at the Ranchlands and Queenslands mosques have prompted the Islamic Association of NW Calgary (IANWC) to open its doors to all Calgarians. On Sunday, November 13, an open house event, "Our House is Your House", will be held at the Ranchlands Mosque to foster engagement between community members and mosque-goers and encourage a better understanding of the space, the people and the religion.
The event is a reaffirmation of IANWC’s vision, which is increasingly looking to involve the greater community by creating opportunities for interaction and engagement. IANWC holds great interest in implementing a community engagement vision that actively works to present the mosque as an open and inclusive space, well-integrated in broader Canadian social mosaic.
